Welcome back to Ice Cream Week, a full week of easy to make homemade ice cream treats made without a machine! So far this week we’ve covered Cherry Pie Ice Cream and Cotton Candy Ice Cream but today is Wednesday, and I figured some chocolate would be best to get you through the week. This easy chocolate ice cream loaded with cookie dough candy bites is the perfect mid-week pick me up, or beginning, or end…
Cookie dough ice cream has always been a fav for me, as a child I think it was always my go to flavor. But these days I think it could be a little better, and by better I mean chocolate. Why does the cookie dough always have to go in vanilla ice cream? Yea, that needed to change. So I started with an easy chocolate Cool Whip and Jell-O Pudding combo and to keep it really simple I just mixed in some cookie dough candy bites that you can find at the store. Which just happened to be coated in chocolate – winning!
Seriously, it’s so simple to make, let’s get started!
Here’s what you’re going to need:
1 8oz. Tub Cool Of Whip Thawed
2 3.4oz Jell-O Chocolate Puddings
2 Cups Milk
2 Boxes Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Bites
Step 1: In a large mixing bowl, or the bowl of an electric mixer beat together pudding and milk. Place in fridge for 5 minutes to firm.
Step 2: Once pudding has firmed up in fridge add entire tub of cool whip and whip until combined.
Step 3: Fold in Cookie Dough Bites with spatula.
Step 4: Place ice cream in a 1.5L or larger container and place in freezer overnight or at least 8 hours.
Be sure to come back tomorrow and see what cool treat I’ve whipped up for you!

I LOVE ice cream week! These simple recipes are a great and easy way to cool down this summer. Especially since I too am experiencing high temperatures (today will be about 110 degrees.) Gotta love living in the desert! Thanks again for these amazing ice cream recipes!
You’re welcome – stay cool!
I’ve been patiently waiting for you to get to the chocolate! Can’t wait to try this! :)
I have already made three chocolate ice creams girl! Just. Can’t. Stop.
Hello Toni,
Please make an Orange Sorbet recipe next! :)
Question: I know ice cream is dairy, but is there a way to make it lactose intolerant with less dairy products? What is the consistency if that’s the case?
Thanks,
Linda
