Wreath Cookies

Last year when I made these holly cupcakes, I just knew I had to make wreath cookies. Fast forward a year later, I finally got the chance and I LOVE how they turned out! These cookies definitely fulfill my love for “easy design” cookies alone. Yet put them together and they create the cutest little display for your Christmas table! I didn’t “attach” my cookies together at all so they are just laying in the wreath form ready to be snuck by little hands :)

The awesome thing about this is you can ship them as a little present for family and friends far away! I sent a few sets home this year even though were not there in person, we could be a very small part of our families Christmas dinners.

I went out looking for a holly leaf cutter and what do you know, Wilton had this set with not only the leaf but the bow as well, score! These cookies came together pretty fast using my go to sugar cookie recipe and methods. I simply pulled a small chunk out to dye red for the bow, then I colored the rest green using gel colorings, totally optional of course! To decorate I simply outlined and filled with green icing, then once semi dry piped on a center line and three little dots to apply some red Sixlets. I won’t bore you guys with step by step instructions this time…because it’s seriously the same exact process I’ve show so many times before. However if your new around here these will help…

But here’s a few shots of my process. This recipe resulted in two wreaths for me.

See, I told you it was easy? This really is a great project for beginners wanting to try their hand at royal iced cookies this this Christmas.
